  • Goldenseal Root Powder

Goldenseal Root Powder is from the dried golden, yellow roots (rhizome) of the small North American forest plant Hydrastis Canadensis. Goldenseal is an herb that grows wild in moist mountainous woodland areas. Used by Cherokee Indians for centuries as an antiseptic and as a wash for skin diseases, wounds, and for sore, inflamed eyes, and as a strong bad tasting tea for indigestion. Goldenseal is believed to enhance the potency of other herbs. In combination with Echinacea, Goldenseal works wonders especially at the start of cold and flu symptoms. It is used by herbilist as an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, to strengthen the immune system, and cleanse vital organs. Taken internally, Goldenseal increases digestive secretions, astringes the mucous membranes that line the gut, and checks inflammation. Can be used externally in the treatment of many skin disorders. Clinical trials demonstrate conclusively that Goldenseal kills many harmful bacteria. It is unique in that it does not harm the "beneficial" bacteria that are normal to the digestive tract. This is a very strong herb, follow the advice of your herbalist on how much to take and how long to take it. It can have a cleansing effect, you may want to drank lots of water during use.
